Youth on the mic
The federal election is right around the corner. From the gas led recovery response to Covid, to the devastating floods we’re seeing right now - our future is at stake. Right now, we have a critical opportunity to make sure our political leaders know we won’t stand for them putting their fossil fuel mates before our communities, country and climate.
That's why we're co-hosting Youth on the Mic: an online, youth-led forum where political candidates listen to our stories and our vision for a fair future.
WHEN:
Wednesday 13 April - 6:30PM (AEST) | 6PM (ACST) | 4:30PM (AWST)
WHERE:
Online - RSVP to receive the link closer to the day
On the night, you'll hear from four young people across the continent, including a young First Nations person from Seed Mob. You'll hear their experiences, issues impacting their lives, and what solutions they want to see. Youth on the Mic is a collab between us, AYCC, Democracy in Colour, the National Union of Students, School Strike 4 Climate, Tomorrow Movement and the Australian Youth Affairs Council.
We'll also have in attendance:
Amanda Rishworth (Labor Shadow Minister for Youth) and Jordon Steele-John (Greens Senator and Youth portfolio holder)
And a few more to be announced 👀
Accessibility information:
Youth on the Mic will have an AUSLAN interpreter, on-screen captioning, accessibility support staff, and follow all of AYCC's accessibility norms. Please contact Tish ([email protected]) if you have further queries or requests.
