1000 strong against fracking in Barkly

Fracking in the NT threatens huge parts of the Northern Territory. Our water, land, culture and climate are all at risk from dangerous plans to drill for shale gas through our groundwater table.

The Barkly electorate covers the towns of Tennant Creek, Borroloola, Ali Curung, Warrego, Tara Aboriginal Community and Alpururulam. The current representative, Gerry McCarthy won by about 1300 votes.

If we can get over 1000 people to sign a petition to ban fracking in the NT, Gerry McCarthy will have to listen.

Gerry McCarthy is part of the Labor Party, and they’re currently deciding whether or not to put in place an all out ban on fracking in the Top End. We need to get as much support in the Labor party for protecting country as possible, so sign the petition today!
